The essence of surreality.

Truth be told I can’t remember the last time I’ve written a weblog. It seems that if left unchecked life rolls over you and kicks you in the balls, or lady balls if that is what you have been born with. I can’t imagine anyone noticed my absence, so who gives a shit.

It also seems that if shit gets crazy enough ole Ass. Wholestetter can be prodded out of his self-imposed retirement. Sooooo, surprise! Shit has gotten crazy enough. Sorry about your luck.

If any of you actually read this drivel and you don’t know what I’m talking about then please stop reading here and go watch some reality TV. Maybe Big Brother, or Teen Moms or whatever crap you can find. Because if that is what you rush home from your day of work to watch, then you deserve all of the ignorance you have. Don’t get me wrong entertainment is important but so is keeping an eye on the reality, reality. Or maybe not. Who the fuck knows?

Our neighbors to the south are in some serious shit. Not just the fact that they have a bad reality TV star acting as their leader but their surreality is unraveling at a breakneck pace. Now any of you who are acquainted with me and my ramblings know that I am not a sky is falling sort of guy. The fact is I rarely buy any of the shit that the so called mainstream media is selling. And make no mistake they are selling their crap to you and force feeding it in truck loads and the sheeple are eating it, choking on it and asking for more.

The USSA is a giant, egotistical, fanatical tinder box. It matters not which side of the eight sided dice you land on, the landscape is volatile and corrosive. If you are a political person, an environmental person, a religious person or all of the above. You can be pro-Trump, against Trump, pro-abortion, against abortion or pro-abortion because of Trump. It makes no difference now because you are caught in a pressure cooker of humungous proportions.

The scared little boys of the white supremacist movement, or neo-nazis, or alt-right, or whatever bullshit name they try to normalize it as, now feel that this is their time. As much as I’d like to lay this at the feet of Donald Trump, and he does have some shit on him, I’m afraid this has been going on for . . . ever. For every police officer that has shot a non-caucasian in the back also has shit on them. Every angry white redneck yelling at a person of difference in a Wal-mart has shit on them. You see, this ugliness has been there the whole time. Yes even when there was a black president. The idea that electing a black president would quench this human condition of disgrace was lofty at best and naive in all ways. The cries of a giant leap forward were loud and resplendent if not a little bit overzealous. It was a great moment in time that has now passed.

The surreality is that the conflagration that is a possibility, could be a maelstrom of loss and more ugliness than anyone needs or wants.

It’s interesting that with all the chaos of the Charlottesville violence North Korea doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore. Three days ago people were screaming nuclear war and now? Not so much. Guam you are on your own.

The problem is we are, as a society, bombarded with too much information, we are shellshocked with an abundance of evil and evildoers. The world has become a small loft apartment and the gods forgive anyone who farts loudly. It’s impossible to dicipher fact from fiction or outright lies.

The other problem, in a long list of problems, is that everything that happens in this tiny space is now packaged and sold as entertainment. All of it. The good, the bad and the Presidency. Words are bent and twisted and used as clubs or vessels for untruth or alternate facts. All wrapped up as entertainment. For shit sakes, Stephan Colbert is having Anthony Scaramucci on his show tonight. Why? When Tony the tiger was in his former job everyone, including Colbert, made fun of the things he said and didn’t take him seriously. So why would Colbert want him on now? It’s entertainment folks. It’s about the ratings. If anyone really thinks the wannabe Goodfella is going to say anything worth hearing at this point, you are fooling yourself. Mr. Mooch is only trying to stay relevant because he is a glory seeking, egotistical, self-serving douche.

So what does it all mean? I don’t have a fucking clue. I know that all I can do is try to be a good person and have compassion for all of those who need it. And hope for a better outcome than what is being projected at this moment in time.

I believe that in time the reality of the world’s situation will become less surreal and more real, or maybe, just maybe it will be less real and more surreal.

BENT but not Forgotten.
